Happy birthday, Cricket!

My little dog turns five today, can you believe it? She was just a tiny chubby thing not too long ago...

Anyway, here are some pictures of the birthday girl. We went for a nice long walk today.

I also realized that I had a bit of CPE agility news to share - at the trial last weekend, Cricket Q'd in 7 out of her 8 runs, with mostly 1sts. At this rate she'll finish her Level 3 title in no time! I'm hoping we'll earn enough Q's to go to Nationals in 2014. Journey was entered as well, but unfortunately walked away with only one qualifying run. She didn't seem to be feeling too well - halfway through the first day she started refusing obstacles, which is not like her at all (usually if Journey doesn't qualify, it's because of her propensity to add obstacles). She had some stomach troubles Saturday night, and we ended up scratching her from the last two runs on Sunday because she clearly wasn't up to snuff. Just wasn't her weekend!

Journey's littermate, Roxy (Tova's First Light of Aurai CGC) also got to compete last weekend. It was her very first CPE trial, and she and her handler Melissa did very well, qualifying in the majority of their runs. Congratulations, you two!

And we're back!

Hello everyone! I'm going to be using this blog as a general dog news blog now, not just a puppy news blog. I'll be sharing updates and pictures here when I get the chance! Our main website has been recently updated as well.

I do have a quick "extended family" news item - Cricket is now a grandmother! Lovely Bryce, out of her first litter (BISS Tova's Canyon Rim of Aurai):

has sired five male puppies out of Ch Windchime's Little Black Cat (Kitten):

Congratulations to Bryce and Kitten, and to Deb Gibbons, the breeder. For more information about these puppies, contact willowwind@shoreham.net.

8/9 week photos

Sorry about the lack of pictures! I know I'm about two weeks behind now. It's hard to believe the puppies are all "grown up" (in a manner of speaking) - they'll be ten weeks old tomorrow. Stella and Quanta (now Sadie!) have already departed, and Hadron and Ripley will be on their way very soon too. We'll miss them but know that they'll all be going to wonderful homes.

Here are some pictures from the past two weeks:

Hadron:

Tilton (formerly Sonic):

Newton: (who will be staying with us!)

Sadie (formerly Quanta):

Echo:

Stella:

Ripley:

And, as always, many many playtime pictures:

6 weeks

Sorry for the lack of five week pictures - it's been a very busy few weeks! I also apologize for the current downtime on our main site - that will be fixed ASAP. The puppies turned six weeks old this past Thursday and all weigh somewhere between five and six pounds - too big to pick up with one hand now. I'm very happy with this litter; they are lovely inside and out. Socialization is going very well and the puppies have met people of all shapes and sizes.

They got their first shots today and will leave to go to their new homes in about two weeks - crazy how the time flies.

We took some more stacked shots this morning - sorry for the harsh lighting and rather uncooperative models.

And of course, this post wouldn't be complete without playtime pictures.
