Two weeks, and we have some eyeballs!

The puppies are starting to look like real dogs! All of them have at least partially open eyes, and are working on finding their land legs. They're even starting to play a little with each other, and come toddling over when a person comes near the whelping box.

And, of course, I have some new pictures for you:

 Sonic

Hadron

Quanta

Ripley

Newton

Echo

That's all for now!

10 days old

Just a few new pictures from today.

New pictures

Hi everyone, sorry about the delay in updates - it's been a busy week and a half! The puppies hit one week three days ago, and everyone's still doing great. They are still big and gaining weight fast; at nine days several have almost doubled their birth weight. The sables are starting to lighten up a bit, and the tanpoints will likely be saddles, though it's too early to tell for sure.

It's amazing how fast they develop - they're already starting to support themselves a bit with their front legs, and ears and eyes should start to open this week. They should be ready for a few visitors now.

I'll post real one-week pictures soon, but for now here are some individual shots of each puppy, along with their to-be registered names and temporary call names.

The puppies are here!

We are thrilled to announce that Ramses and Cricket are proud parents! We welcomed seven longhaired whippet puppies into the world last night. There are four girls (three tanpoints and a sable) and three boys (two sables and a tanpoint). All are fat, healthy, happy, and nursing actively. Cricket is doing well, too, though she's quite tired.

I'd like to introduce Stella, Sonic, Hadron, Quanta, Ripley, Newton, and Echo (we decided on a "physics" theme for this litter). I'll get some individual shots at some point, but didn't want to stress the puppies more than necessary today.

A large dog

No puppies yet, but we are officially on puppy watch. Cricket is carrying one rather large load:
